Wheel of Fortune upright meaning

A great wheel hangs in the clouds, marked with letters and alchemical signs. A snake slides down one side and a jackal-headed figure rises on the other. A sphinx with a sword sits on top. In the four corners an angel, an eagle, a lion and a bull sit on clouds, each reading a book. Everything on the card is moving except them.

Upright, the Wheel means a change of luck, and usually a good one. Things that were stuck shift without you forcing them. Someone reappears, an opportunity lands, timing finally lines up. It is one of the few cards that says some of this is out of your hands, and for once that is good news.

The catch is in the name. A wheel keeps turning. The card says act while it is your turn, because it will not stay at the top forever.

Reversed

Wheel of Fortune reversed meaning

Reversed, the turn is going the wrong way. Delays, bad luck, a stretch where nothing lands. Plans that keep falling through for reasons that have nothing to do with you.

The important thing is that it is still a wheel. A bad turn is a turn, not a place. Reversed is not yet rather than no, because what is down now comes back up.

What you can control is whether you make a bad stretch permanent. Do not burn a bridge, quit, or decide something forever while you are at the bottom of the turn.
