The Queen of Wands is the card of confidence people can feel across a room. Upright it means warmth, magnetism and owning your place. Reversed it means that fire has gone jealous, tired or unsure of itself. In a yes or no reading it is a yes: walk in like you belong there.

Upright

Queen of Wands upright meaning

A queen sits on a throne carved with lions, facing straight at you. She holds a staff in one hand and a sunflower in the other. More sunflowers are on the throne behind her. At her feet sits a black cat, looking out at you too. She does not sit primly. Her knees are apart and she takes up the space she needs.

As a person, the Queen of Wands is warm, sure of herself and very hard to ignore. Funny, direct, generous with attention. People are drawn to them and they know it, without making a show of it. They run things and make it look easy. They are also not someone you mess with twice.

As a situation, the card means you are at your most magnetic. Confidence works in your favor here. The answer is yes, and it is yes because of how you show up, not because of luck.

Reversed

Queen of Wands reversed meaning

Reversed, the fire turns inward. Most often it means confidence that has gone shaky or sour. Jealousy, comparing yourself to someone else, wanting to be noticed and resenting that you are not.

It can also mean burnout. You have been the warm one, the strong one, the one who holds it together, and there is nothing left. The cat is still there. The sunflower is drooping.

I read it as not yet. The magnetism is yours, it has not gone anywhere. It needs to be built back up before you walk into this room again.

Love and relationships

Queen of Wands in love.

If you are single

You attract people when you stop trying to be chosen and act like the one choosing. Go where you will be seen. Someone is drawn to the version of you that is not apologizing.

In a relationship

The relationship has heat and a confident center. Upright, you both feel wanted. Reversed, insecurity or jealousy is creeping in, and it is worth naming before it starts running things.

About an ex

About an ex, the Queen of Wands says the strongest move is to be visibly fine. Not performing it. Actually back in your own life. That version of you is the one they remember, and the one that pulls.

How they feel

Queen of Wands as feelings

As feelings, the Queen of Wands means they are attracted to your confidence. They admire you, maybe a little intimidated by you. They like your warmth and your nerve. If they are slow to move, it may be because they are not sure they can keep up.

What to do

Queen of Wands as advice

Take up space. Dress for it, speak for it, walk in for it. Stop shrinking to keep anyone comfortable. If your fire is low, tend it first, then go.

The question everyone asks

Does the Queen of Wands mean they miss me, or that he will come back?

It means you are memorable to them, and the version of you that pulls them back is the confident one. The card does not say they will return by itself. It says your best chance is to be fully in your own life, warm and unbothered, because that is what they are drawn to. Chasing puts the fire out.

In my readings

When Queen of Wands comes up for me.

The Queen of Wands comes up a lot for clients who have forgotten how magnetic they are. After a breakup, after a long stretch of caring for everyone else. When I see it upright, I tell them the cards are pointing at them, not at the other person. The answer is in how they show up.

Reversed, I look for where the light went. Comparison to someone new, a body that has been through a lot, exhaustion. That is what glamour work is good for: bringing the glow back so people feel it again when you walk in, including you.

If this card is about someone
