A regret spell turns the mirror around, so the person who hurt you feels the weight of what they walked away from, while the cord between you is cut on your side. It is not a curse. It sends back the truth of what happened, nothing added, and it gives you your own attention back.
There is a specific kind of angry that comes after being discarded by someone who then looks completely fine. That is who this work is for. Below is how it works, how to cast a simple version at home, how to read the candles afterward, and what I do when someone asks me to cast it for them.
What a regret spell does
A proper regret working has two halves, and most home versions only do one of them.
- The mirror, on their side. A mirror set toward what they did sends it back to them as it was. Not worse. Not dressed up. The same weight they handed you, now sitting with them. That is where regret comes from: seeing clearly what they had and what they did with it.
- The cut, on your side. The cord between you is cut close to you, so what they took stops draining. This is the half people skip, and it is why so many of them cast the mirror and then spend the next month refreshing the other person’s profile to see if it worked.
The cut is not a consolation prize. It is often the part that changes your life more, because your attention was the thing they were still holding.
A regret spell is not revenge
I do not cast to harm a body or a life, and I would ask you not to either. Harm is heavy to send, it tends to find its way home, and it keeps you tied to the person far longer than regret does. If you want them hurt, you are still in the fight. If you want them to understand, and you want to be free of them, this is the working.
| If what you want is | The working |
|---|---|
| For them to feel the size of what they walked away from | Regret spell |
| For them to come back | Reconciliation spell |
| To stop thinking about them at all | Cord cutting |
| To send back something you think they sent at you | Return to sender |
| For the person they left you for to be gone | Third party removal |
Before you cast: three honest questions
Is it over? Regret work is for something that has ended. If you are still together and fighting, this is the wrong tool, and it will make the fight worse.
What exactly did they do? One word or one short line. Lied. Left. Replaced me. Took the credit. You will carve it into the black candle, and vague anger makes a vague burn.
Do you want them back? Answer it honestly and on your own. If the answer is yes, do reconciliation instead. Regret and reconciliation pull in different directions, and casting both at once gets you neither.
How to cast a simple regret spell at home
You need two candles, a small mirror, a cord, paper and about two hours to yourself.

What you need
- One black candle for what they did. A chime candle is ideal because it burns down in one sitting.
- One white candle for you, the same size.
- A small mirror. A compact or a hand mirror is enough.
- A cord or string, black or red, about a forearm long, and scissors.
- Paper, a pen and a pinch of salt.
- Two fireproof plates on a clear surface, away from anything that can catch.
1. Write two petitions
On the first slip, write their first name and what they did, in one plain line. On the second, write your first name and this: what was taken comes back to me. Keep them short. Anger makes people write pages, and pages blur the work.
2. Set the mirror
Stand the mirror upright behind the black candle’s plate, facing the candle, so the candle is looking at itself. Put their petition under the black candle’s plate. Put yours under the white candle’s plate, about a hand’s width away.
3. Carve the candles
On the black candle, carve their first name near the top and the word for what they did near the bottom. On the white candle, carve your own first name. Lay the cord on the table between the two plates so it runs from one to the other, well away from both flames.
4. Light them
Light the black candle first and say, once: what you did comes back to you, as it was, nothing added. Then light the white one and say: what you took from me comes back to me. Then stop talking and stay in the room.
5. Cut the cord
When the white candle has burned about halfway, cut the cord with the scissors close to your side, near the white candle. Put a pinch of salt on the cut end on your side. That is the moment the draining stops. Let both candles burn down. If you have to leave, snuff them rather than blowing them out, and relight them when you are back. Never leave a flame burning alone.
6. Clear it away
Their petition, their end of the cord and whatever is left of the black candle leave the house. Wrap them and throw them out somewhere that is not yours. Your petition and your end of the cord you can keep in a drawer until the pull toward them is gone, then throw those away too.
How to read the burn
Write down what each candle did before you decide what it means. The black candle tells you about them. The white one tells you about you.
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| Black candle burns fast and clean to the bottom | The mirror turned. What they did has gone back to them. |
| Black candle smokes heavily or leaves soot | They are more guarded than they look. The weight lands slowly. |
| Black candle goes out on its own | Something is still holding. Usually it is you. Cut the cord again before you relight it. |
| White candle burns tall and steady | Your attention is coming back quickly. |
| White candle stays low and weak | You are more drained than you thought. Rest before you do anything else. |
| Black wax runs toward the white candle | They still pull at you. The cut matters more here than the mirror. |
| Both finish close together | It went cleanly on both sides. |
A black candle that fights is not a failure. It is information about how much armor they are wearing, and it is worth knowing before you start watching for signs.
How long a regret spell takes to work
I do not give dates, and nobody honest can. What I can tell you is where to look first. The first change the work is set for is on your side: the urge to check on them weakens, their name stops landing like a blow, and the imagined arguments stop replaying. That tends to show within one lunar cycle when the white candle burned well.
What they feel you may never hear about, and you should not go looking. Checking on them is how the cord grows back. The best proof that the work landed is that one day you notice you have not thought about them in a while.
When I cast it for you
At my altar it is the same structure, done properly and on the same night: a black candle for what they did, a white one for you, the mirror turned, the cord cut on your side. You get a photograph of both candles and a written report of what each one did and what I read in it.

- Single Candle if it is recent and you mostly want the cord cut on your side.
- Double Casting if they are still in your feed, your circle or your head. The first night cuts, the second turns the mirror.
- Forever and Lasting if this person has been in your life for years and one night will not lift it.
You send first names, yours and theirs. That is all. And if what you are really after is harm, I will refund you and we can part politely.
