You do not want a relationship reading and you do not want a love spell. You want one phone to light up with one name on it. A contact me spell is narrow candle work with one job: that a specific person reaches out to you, by text, by call or by lifting a block. It brings you to their mind until acting on it becomes the easy thing, and it opens the way the message has to travel. It does not script the conversation and it does not change how anyone feels.

This is the fastest working I cast and the one people write back about soonest, which is also why it is the easiest one to ruin by checking. So here is the whole of it: what the candle does and the one thing it cannot, what a text and a call each ask for, why yellow and why the phone sits on the table, how I set it at my altar and how you can set it tonight, how to read the flame, what order the signs come in, the three kinds of silence, and the handful of things that put the phone back down.

What a contact me spell does, and the one thing it does not

It works on the channel between two people and on bringing you to the other person’s mind. When contact stops, the feeling rarely stops with it. What stops it is pride, a bad moment, the fear of being the one who writes first. The work lowers that weight until the message is small enough to send.

Three things happen at once in a good burn. Your name comes up for them, at the odd moments: in the car, in the queue, in the minute before sleep. The way the message has to travel clears, which matters more than people think when there is a block, a muted chat or a number deleted and half remembered. And the first move shrinks, so that hey stops feeling like a confession. That is all of it. It is the doorbell. It is not the visit.

The one thing it does not do is make anybody type. If your name arrives in their head and they decide, again, not to act on it, the candle shows that as a low flame and I write it in the report. The work is not set against anyone’s will, and the candles I burn for someone who has asked to be left alone go out, which is why I do not light them.

How to make him text me: what the candle can and cannot do

A text is the smallest ask in contact work, and the one the candle moves most easily. The carving is his name near the top, yours near the base and a single line drawn from his to yours, so the flame travels the way the message does: from him, down, to you.

What the candle can do is put you in front of him often enough that the draft he keeps deleting finally gets sent. What it cannot do is write a good draft. The message that comes is usually about nothing: a meme, a saw this and thought of you, a question with an obvious answer. That is the channel being tested from his side, and the test is passed by answering warmly, briefly and later than you want to. In the candles I burned this week, the ones that crackled inside the first ten minutes were nearly all for someone who had already written the message and not sent it. The crackle is talk. When it comes that early, the words already exist.

How to make him call me, and why a call is a different ask

A call means hearing your voice and being heard back, with no time to edit, and most people reach for it only after a text has gone well. Ask for a call and the candle works for a bigger thing. Expect a slower burn, and expect a text to arrive first.

The petition changes for it. The sentence becomes he calls me, and it is easy, and the word CALL goes on the side of the candle, carved after the names, so that the candle knows what counts and you do too. Light blue suits this one better than yellow, because a call is a conversation and you want the words in it calm. If what you actually want from the call is to hear him explain himself, carve CALL and then put the phone down for the burn, because that is the ask the candle will carry, and it is a fair one.

One honest thing about calls: a missed call with no voicemail counts. It is the clumsiest way a person has of saying your name, and it is usually what comes first.

Why yellow, why Wednesday, and why the phone sits on the table

Yellow belongs to Mercury, who carries messages, and to Wednesday, which is his day. A waxing moon draws something toward you, and a message is a thing drawn. The phone sits on the far side of the plate because the message has to come across the table to reach you, and because the work wants a phone near it.

The candle is a chime candle, a small taper, and never a seven day glass candle. The whole working is one message, and it has to finish in one sitting. A glass candle on a contact working is a month of waiting lit up on your table, and it does to you exactly what you would expect.

The color is yellow for a plain message, light blue when the last conversation was a fight, red only if the contact is romantic and you are honest with yourself that it is. Red on a text that is not romantic turns the message into a pull, and the other person feels the pull and backs away from it. White with a clear petition is better than the wrong red.

The petition has their name at the top and yours at the base because the message comes down from them to you, and the sentence between the two names is the channel. The honey, if you use it, is touched to the sentence only and never to the names. Honey on the sentence makes the words sweet. Honey on the names ties two people, which is a different working.

The dressing goes from the top down toward the base, strokes toward you, drawing the message down the candle the way the carving does. Plain olive oil, a few drops. Nothing crushed into it. This is a clean working and it wants a clean candle.

The carving order is their name, your name, the channel word on the side, and the line last. The line is one stroke, downward, with the pin never lifted from the wax, because a message that stops halfway is the thing you are trying to end.

The phone goes face up, sound on, on the far side of the plate from where you sit, and you do not touch it during the burn. I have watched candles tunnel for exactly that reason: the person checked, the flame sank into itself, and the wall of wax it left was the shape of the checking. At my altar there is no phone. In its place I set a second slip with the channel word on it, TEXT or CALL or UNBLOCK, where the phone would be, and I read the lean of the flame against that.

Wednesday after sunset is the textbook night. At my altar the work is set the same day the order comes in, whatever the day is, because a contact working cast carefully on a Friday beats a perfect Wednesday you spend drafting messages toward.

How to cast a contact me spell at home with one candle

You need one candle, paper, a pen, a pin, your phone and about two hours. It is the working I set at my altar, with nothing left out.

What you need

• One yellow chime candle, or light blue if the last conversation was a fight, or red if the contact is romantic. A chime candle burns down in one sitting.
• A square of plain paper and a pen.
• A pin or a small knife to carve with.
• A few drops of olive oil to dress the candle.
• A drop of honey, optional, for the sentence only.
• Your phone, charged, sound on.
• A fireproof plate on a clear surface, away from curtains, shelves, paper and pets, with room on its far side for the phone.

1. Write the petition

Their first name at the top of the square. Your first name at the bottom. Between them, one sentence in the present tense: they reach out to me, and it is easy. If you want a call, say they call me. If you are blocked, say the way between us is open and they reach out to me. That is the whole petition. Do not write what they should say. Contact work fails the moment it tries to script the conversation.

2. Sweeten the sentence

Touch a drop of honey to the sentence, if you are using it, and nowhere near either name. Fold the paper toward you, once, and once more. Put it under the plate.

3. Dress and carve the candle

Rub a few drops of oil from the top of the candle down toward the base, strokes toward you. Carve their first name near the top and yours near the base. On the side, carve the word for what counts: TEXT, CALL or UNBLOCK. Then draw one line from their name down to yours, in a single stroke, without lifting the pin. Stand the candle on the plate.

4. Set the phone and light the candle

Put the phone face up on the far side of the plate, sound on, well away from where the flame will be. Light the candle. Say their first name three times, then your sentence once, out loud. Then stop talking and leave the phone alone. Do not pick it up, do not turn it over, do not check it. Stay in the room. The two hours are the reading.

5. Stay with it

Watch how the flame stands in the first ten minutes and the last ten, whether it crackles and when, which way it leans. If you have to leave the room, snuff the flame, never blow it, and relight it when you are back. Never leave a candle burning alone, and never leave the phone within reach of the heat.

6. The remains

When the candle is out, fold the petition small and put it in your phone case, your wallet or under the phone at night. Scrape what wax is left into a square of paper and keep it in a drawer. The night they write, throw both out, because a channel held open past the message becomes a wait, and you are done waiting. If the cycle passes and they do not, throw them out anyway and read the burn again before you cast a second time.

Reading a contact candle: the flame is the conversation

In contact work the flame is the conversation that has not happened yet, and you read it the way you would read a person across a table: whether they are talking, leaning in, holding back or walking off. When a contact candle goes out at my altar I relight it once and note the time. If it goes out a second time I do not force it, because a channel that closes twice in one sitting is saying something, and in a Double Casting the second candle waits until the first has been read, for exactly that reason. A tunnel I let finish and then I write, plainly, that the work was pulled in from the client’s side, because it nearly always was. And soot that runs the whole glass is the one burn where I ask you to wait the full cycle before you decide it is a no.

How long does a contact me spell take?

Most people notice the first signs in the second or third week, and contact work tends to sit at the quick end of that, because it asks for one small action rather than a change of heart. The full turn, if it comes, can take up to three lunar cycles. Writing first resets the clock.

I read the timing from the burn and not from the calendar, and I do not give dates. A crackling, clean flame usually moves inside the first week, and the first move is small. A low flame with soot down the glass is pride, and pride takes the whole cycle to come round, if it does. A flame that went out twice means the channel is shut for now, and the honest thing to do with that is to wait a week and cast once more, or to decide that you have your answer.

What stretches every one of those is the same thing. Every message you send first, every like on an old photo, every story posted for an audience of one, puts you back in their notifications, and the work is set to put you in their head instead. You cannot be both.

Contact me spell signs, in the order they come

The first sign is on your side, and most people miss it because they are watching the phone.

1. You stop drafting, days one to three. The message you have been writing and deleting stops getting written. That is the channel, settling.
2. The small view, days three to seven. A story of yours watched. An old post liked at an odd hour. A follow that disappears and comes back. These are someone standing near the door.
3. The sideways word, three to six weeks. A mutual friend says you came up. A song or a place that belongs to the two of you turns up in something they post. Your name is in their mouth.
4. The message about nothing, inside the cycle. A meme, a question with an obvious answer, a missed call with no voicemail. This is the first move, made as small as the work could make it. Answer warmly, briefly, later than you want to.
5. The real one. Shorter than the conversation you have been rehearsing, and lighter, which is how you know it came from the work and not from the old fight.

What is not a sign: the typing dots you are sure you saw, a feeling at three in the morning that they are thinking of you, their song in a shop. Those are your side. A dream about them tells you about your own heart, and there is more on that in dreaming about your ex. Blocked, muted or just silent: three different silences

They look the same from your side of the phone and they are not the same work. Blocked means the way is shut and has to open before anything travels. Muted means they see you and choose not to act, which is pride. Silent means both of you are waiting, and that is the fastest of the three.

Blocked. The petition sentence changes to the way between us is open and they reach out to me, and UNBLOCK goes on the side of the candle. The first sign is the unblock itself, which is usually quiet, and you do not test for it by checking every morning. Checking is the thing the block was built against. When the way opens, the message tends to follow inside the cycle. If the block came after they asked you for space, leave it. That silence is an answer.

Muted or ignoring. They see your name and do not act on it. This is pride, and the candle for it is light blue, because the words need to be calm when they finally come. Expect a low flame and a slow burn. The Double Casting exists for this one: the first candle opens, the second holds the channel open while they come round.

Just silent. Nobody is blocked and nobody is ignoring. You are both waiting for the other to go first. This is the yellow candle, the crackle in the first ten minutes, and the message about nothing before the week is out. It is also the silence most likely to be broken by you, which is the one thing you must not do.

What undoes a contact working

Seen from the altar, in the order I see them put the phone face down again.

• Sending the second message. The one the work was supposed to make them send. Now you are in their notifications and out of their head.
• The like on an old photo. It feels like nothing. It is a message, and it says I am still here, which is the opposite of what the candle is saying.
• Asking a friend to mention you. That is contact by proxy, and they can feel the proxy.
• Casting every night. Chasing, in a different coat. One candle, then the cycle.
• Scripting the conversation in the petition. They text me and say they are sorry. The candle cannot carry the second half, and it drops the first half trying.
• Checking the phone during the burn. The tunnel in the table above. I have seen it enough times to write it without hedging.

When a message is not what you need

Contact work is the right first step more often than people think, because you cannot reconcile with someone who is not speaking to you. It is also the wrong working for a whole list of things, and knowing which one you have is worth an evening before the candle gets one.

And the hard no, said plainly. If they asked you not to contact them, this is not the spell, and I will not cast it over a clear no. I do not cast on anyone under eighteen, and I do not cast anything that reaches into a person’s will. The candle brings you to mind. The hand that picks up the phone is theirs.

When I cast it for you

What I set at my altar is exactly what you have just read, on the day your order arrives. Their name at the top of the petition and yours at the base, the sentence between them, the honey on the sentence only, the candle dressed downward and carved with both names, the channel word and the single line. A second slip with TEXT, CALL or UNBLOCK where your phone would sit, so I can read the lean. The candle burned through in one sitting while I watch the first ten minutes and the last ten. If your order is in before 6 pm ET, the candle is lit tonight.

What comes back is a photograph of your candle after the burn and a written report: how the flame stood at the start and the end, whether it crackled and when, which way it leaned, where the soot sat, what I read in it, which kind of silence I think you have, what to do this week and what is not a sign. The report I sent on Tuesday said wait, and do not write first, in those words, because the flame had crackled early and the message already existed. If the channel looks closed, the report says that too. Write back with questions and I answer them.

• Single Candle for one message, one call, one unblock.
• Double Casting if they have gone quiet before and come back, and you want the channel held rather than opened once.

You send first names, yours and theirs. Nothing else. This one is narrow on purpose. I will not ask for a birth date or a chart, and the background stays with you unless you want to share it.
